FINAL MINUTES GLENVIEW HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION September 13, 2004 Call to Order by the Chairman The September 13, 2004, meeting of the Glenview Historic Preservation Commission was called to order by Chairman Silver at 7:30 p.m. in the Rear Meeting Room of the Boardroom of the Village Hall. Roll Call and Declaration of a Quorum Roll call was taken, and Chairman Silver noted that a quorum was present. PRESENT: Commissioners Dawson, Kramer, Morrison, and Chairman Silver ABSENT: Commissioner Conway ALSO PRESENT: Helen Wiseman, Licensed Architect and Staff Liaison AUDIENCE: Mr. Alex Pappas Ms. Lynne Stiefel Mr. Rick Wendy Approval of Minutes Chairman Silver asked for corrections or comments to the August 9, 2004 minutes of the Historic Preservation Commission meeting. Commissioner Kramer explained what he meant related to the lots in The Park area. When Mr. David Bahlman, of the Landmarks Preservation Council of Illinois, gave his presentation to The Park residents in January 2003, some of the landowners indicated that no matter what size their lot was, they were only allowed to build one building per lot and could not subdivide. Ms. Wiseman reminded Commissioners of what she stated at the last HPC meeting was that construction is governed by the zoning district in which the lot is located, minimum lot area, and minimum lot width. Some of those lots don't equal the minimum lot width. Each situation would have to be evaluated on a case by case basis and evaluated based on the Zoning Ordinance. Commissioner Morrison said there are a number of instances in The Park area where there are more than one dwelling unit on a lot. Ms. Wiseman said the buildings are allowed to continue to exist if they exist presently. Page four, first paragraph, seventh line down, correct spelling is "Bert".
