FINAL MINUTES GLENVIEW HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION July 10, 2006 Call to Order by the Chairman The July 10, 2006, meeting of the Glenview Historic Preservation Commission was called to order by Chairman Silver at 7:40 p.m. in the Lunch Room of the Village Hall. Roll Call and Declaration of a Quorum Roll call was taken, and Chairman Silver noted that a quorum was present. PRESENT: Commissioners Conway, Dawson, Pappas, Wendy, and Chairman Silver ALSO PRESENT: Ms. Lisa Porter, Staff Liaison Approval of Minutes Chairman Silver asked for corrections or comments to Minutes of the Historic Preservation Commission meeting of June 12, 2006. Page one, first paragraph, fifth line should read, “… The Historical Society has plats from 1880, 1920’s, 1950’s, and 1960’s which may be useful.” Page two, second paragraph, should read, “Commissioner Conway moved to recommend to the Board of Trustees that the Historic Preservation Ordinance be amended to …”. Page two, third paragraph, says: “It was then suggested that the Commission’s discussion regarding term extensions and the subsequent motion be transmitted to the Village President for consideration. Page four, last paragraph, fourth line, should read “… Swain Nelson as a landscape designer which was a Glenview business of international status.” Commissioner Conway wondered if term extensions amendment to the Ordinance had been placed on the Board agenda. Commissioner Wendy said in the Commission has spoken in the past about other substantive amendments to the Historic Preservation Ordinance that should be discussed with Ms. Mary Bak. Commissioner Wendy reminded the Commission that he submitted to the HPC a series of proposed technical amendments that arose out of his drafting the Handbook. It is not necessary to submit all of these amendments with the term amendment, as long as Chairman Silver could address that Board at a later date.
