There were no corrections.

Commissioner Kramer moved to approve the August 14, 2006 Minutes. Commissioner
Pappas seconded the motion. Upon voice vote the motion carried 3-0.

General Communications

Chairman Silver sent an e-mail to Commissioners regarding a meeting he attended in
Glencoe. The Glencoe Historic Preservation Commission receives requests for demolition
permits on a monthly basis. In order for Glenview’s HPC to receive notification of
demolition permits, the Board of Trustees must change Glenview’s Ordinance. Demolition
permits are not compiled for public knowledge, however, if someone called the Village and
inquired regarding a specific property, an answer would be provided.

There are two different historic labels for a building in Glencoe: a building may be
designated historic and the other is certified historic. In order for a house to be certified, it
must first be designated historic with the owner’s consent. It is then registered with the
County Recorder of Deeds and is henceforth protected from demolition. If the owner wishes
for an alteration permit, the Village of Glencoe requires a review. A building permit rebate is
given if the building is modified appropriately. There are presently eight certified homes in
Glencoe.
