MINUTES <br />GLENVIEW HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />AUGUST 13, 2001 <br />The August 13, 2001, meeting of the Glenview Historic Preservation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairman David Silver at 7:30 PM in the Board Room of the Village Hall. Ms. <br />Wiseman took roll call. A quorum was present. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Commissioners Dawson, Dickson, Ireland, Kramer, Morrison, Neymark, <br />Reder, and Chairman Silver <br /> <br />ABSENT: Commissioners Browne, Eich, and Ruter <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Helen Wiseman, Licensed Architect and Staff Liaison <br /> <br />Chairman Silver asked for comments or changes to the July 9, 2001, minutes of the Historic <br />Preservation Commission meeting. Changes are as follows: <br /> <br />§ Page 9 – Commissioner Dawson asked if an official commission member could conduct a <br />fundraiser? <br />being <br />§ Page 2 – What happens if the applicant does not have the answer to questions asked <br />about the historic value of the nominated property? <br />tend <br />§ Page 4 – By charging the non-owner a fee, it would to eliminate the frivolous <br />applications and still encourage homeowners. <br />§ Page 5 – Chairman Silver suggested that the commission encourage the property owner to <br />their <br />apply on own. <br />S <br />§ Page 7 – Commissioner Reder commented that this is what third parties are all about. he <br />feels that the commission… <br />§ Page 5 – The commission would like to allow third parties to come before the commission at <br />any meeting. <br />Chairman Silver stated that he had gone through the past minutes and noted <br />§ Page 8 – <br />the following: <br /> <br />stated if the criteria were rewrittenwould have to <br />§ Page 8 – It was that , the ordinance be <br />corrected to match the HPC criteria. <br />It should be <br />§ Page 8 – May minutes – noted…. <br /> <br />Commissioner Morrison moved to accept the minutes of July 9 as corrected. Commissioner <br />Kramer seconded the motion. Upon voice vote, motion carried. <br /> <br />General Communications: <br />Commissioner Reder asked if she saw a home that she liked and felt that it had potential <br />landmark status, could she approach the owner about considering the property for landmark <br />status? Chairman Silver asked that she wait with her question. A discussion “along that line” <br />would be following later in the meeting. <br /> <br />Ms. Wiseman told the commissioners that Commissioner Eich would be resigning form the <br />HPC. He will be moving and will no longer be living in Glenview. Ms. Wiseman will forward <br />Commissioner Eich’s resignation letter to the Village President when it is submitted to staff. <br /> <br />
