MINUTES <br />GLENVIEW HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />JULY 9, 2001 <br />The July 9, 2001, meeting of the Glenview Historic Preservation Commission was called to order <br />by Chairman David Silver at 7:30 PM in the Board Room of the Village Hall. Ms. Wiseman took <br />roll call. Chairman Silver noted that there was a quorum present. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Commissioners Dawson, Dickson, Kramer, Morrison, Neymark, Reder, <br />and Chairman Silver <br /> <br />ABSENT: Commissioners Browne, Eich, and Ruter <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Helen Wiseman, Licensed Architect and Staff Liaison <br /> <br />Chairman Silver asked for comments or changes to the June 11, 2001, minutes of the Historic <br />Preservation Commission meeting. Changes are as follows: <br /> <br />her <br />Page 1 – Commissioner Morrison asked that e-mail be sent to each commissioner … <br />that changes to ordinance are submitted to <br />Page 4 – Address fee change at the time <br />the Board. <br /> <br />Commissioner Morrison moved to accept the minutes of June 11 as corrected. Commissioner <br />Neymark seconded the motion. Upon voice vote, motion carried. <br /> <br />General Communications: <br /> Ms. Wiseman mentioned the Historical Preservation Architectural <br />Request for Proposal survey status which would be discussed in more detail later in the meeting. <br /> <br />Chairman Silver distributed an article on Sears homes that was in the Sunday Tribune and a copy <br />of an e-mail that he received from Mr. Eric Johnson. Mr. Johnson was concerned about the <br />public structures such as the Glenview House and Grandpa’s, and whether or not the committee <br />thought about what improvements/changes could be made to structures that had historic <br />standing. His concern was that public structures often “get locked into never being changed,” <br />which could pose problems for those “structures that need to change existing walls inside.” <br /> <br />Chairman Silver would like the HPC roster redone with all members listed in alpha order and <br />adding the phone number and e-mail of Ms. Wiseman. A revision date will also be added. <br /> <br />Old Business – <br /> <br />Chairman Silver signed the Rules and Procedures as adopted at the June 11, 2001 HPC meeting. <br />The following corrections to the final copy will be made. <br />Page 3, Article IV Landmark and Historic Designation Procedures; Certificates of <br />Appropriateness; Certificates of Economic Hardship; Fees should be underlined as all <br />other articles in the revised Rules and Procedures. <br />5 <br />Page 5, Section 3: will not be underlined <br />suggested <br /> Section 4: will not be underlined. <br /> <br />Re: Minutes from the June 11 meeting, page 3. <br />Chairman Silver asked that answers to the following questions be available at the next meeting: <br />
