MINUTES <br /> GLENVIEW HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br /> APRIL 8, 2002 <br />The April 8, 2002, meeting of the Glenview Historic Preservation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairman David Silver at 7:30 PM in the Board Room of the Village Hall. Ms. <br />Wiseman took roll call. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Commissioners Dawson, Ireland, Kramer, Morrison, Neymark, and <br /> Chairman Silver <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Helen Wiseman, Licensed Architect and Staff Liaison <br /> <br />Chairman Silver noted that a quorum was present. Chairman Silver and Commissioner Morrison <br />both mentioned that they spoke to Village President, Larry Carlson, regarding the HPC <br />vacancies. President Carlson replied that he is still working on it. Commissioner Kramer spoke <br />with Village Manager McCarthy who stated that there are several (4-5) commissions in need <br />commissioners. After discussion, it was determined that there are several people who are <br />interested and willing to serve on the HPC. <br /> <br />Chairman Silver asked for any comments or corrections to the March 25, 2002, minutes. Page 2 paragraph 3 should read - 'Chairman Silver replied that this is typical' <br /> Page 1 last paragraph should read - "Ms. Wiseman stated that staff has not reviewed the <br /> three (3) proposals that were submitted at length. All were submitted by the deadline of <br /> the commission." <br /> Page 5 paragraph 4 - He mentioned that a lot adjacent to a home with historic value <br /> might be built upon which would impact the integrity of the historic home. <br /> Page 5 paragraph 1 -. .... concentrate in the area of funding for property owner(s) and be a <br /> source of guidance for the homeowner as they go through the process. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kramer moved to approve the minutes of the March 25, 2002, meeting as <br />amended. Commissioner Morrison seconded the motion. Upon voice vote, motion carried. <br /> <br />General Communications - <br />Ms. Wiseman distributed a copy of a postcard from the Landmarks Preservation Council of <br />Illinois, which was announcing several lectures and dates that may be of interest to the <br />commissioners. <br /> <br />Ms Wiseman also referred to a list of potential questions for staff, which Ms. Wiseman and/or <br />Mary Bak will review and respond to, and for the firms, which can be used during the interviews <br />of the survey applicants. Chairman Silver compiled these questions, and they will be discussed <br />later on in the meeting. <br /> <br />Ms. Wiseman had a copy of the Restoration Resources Directory from the Landmarks <br />Preservation Council for the commissioners to peruse. She will make photocopies of any page or <br />section in the book that may be of interest to the commissioners. <br /> <br /> <br />
