MINUTES <br /> GLENVIEW HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br /> MAY 13, 2002 <br />The May 13, 2002, meeting of the Glenview Historic Preservation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairman David Silver at 7:30 PM in the Board Room of the Village Hall. Ms. <br />Wiseman took roll call, and it was noted that a quorum was present. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Commissioners Dawson, Ireland, Kramer, Morrison, Neymark, and <br /> Chairman Silver <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Helen Wiseman, Licensed Architect and Staff Liaison <br /> <br />Chairman Silver asked for any comments or corrections to the April 8, 2002, minutes. <br />Page 3, Item 2 should read: ". ....a sense of cost and $20,000 was proposed in the 8/14/01 budget <br /> request." <br />Page 2, paragraph 4 should read: Commissioner Morrison referred to page ten (10) of the HPC <br />Ordinance under Application of the Certificate of Appropriateness. She was looking for <br />clarification that "every application for a demolition permit or a building permit, including plans <br />and specifications, shall be forwarded to the Historical Preservation Commission." Ms. Wiseman <br />commented that "only those that met the criteria for a landmark building." Consensus was <br />that it was okay. <br /> <br />Page 2, last paragraph should read "... Mary Bak is requesting direction" for is deleted. <br /> <br />Commissioner Morrison moved to adopt the minutes of April 8, 2002, as corrected. <br />Commissioner Dawson seconded the motion. Upon voice vote, motion carried. <br /> <br />There were no General Communications for the May 13, 2002, meeting. <br /> <br />Chairman Silver asked if the HPC was signed up for the Glenview Street Sale. Ms. Wiseman <br />responded that the HPC was not signed up to date. She had some questions regarding the street <br />sale which would be addressed later in the meeting. <br /> <br />Chairman Silver referred to the final copy of the HPC Ordinance No. 4382. The changes were as <br />follows: <br />· Page 9, I Section 9, Item 9 was changed to read: It is located in an area that has yielded or <br /> may be likely to yield information important in history or prehistory. <br />· Page 11, Item 6 was changed to read: Deteriorated historic features shall be repaired or <br /> restored rather than replaced. <br /> <br />Chairman Silver commented about the status of the memo to the board, which was requesting <br />direction to interview potential candidates. As of May 13, it has not been forwarded to the <br />village board. President Carlson has requested that it be put on the agenda for the May 21, 2002 <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ireland asked for clarification. Chairman Silver explained that the memo was <br />asking for direction as to whether or not the HPC should proceed with the survey interviews (not <br />funding). Funding should not be requested until the HPC is aware of the cost of the survey. <br /> <br /> <br />
