MINUTES <br /> GLENVIEW HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br /> JULY 8, 2002 <br />The July 8, 2002, meeting of the Glenview Historic Preservation Commission was called to order <br />by Acting Chairman Beverly Dawson at 7:35 PM in the Board Room of the Village Hall. Ms. <br />Wiseman took roll call, and it was noted that a quorum was present. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br /> <br />Commissioners Dawson, Ireland, Kramer, Morrison, and Neymark <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Chairman Silver <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Helen Wiseman, Licensed Architect and Staff Liaison <br /> <br />Commissioner Dawson asked for additions and/or corrections to the May 13, 2002 Historic <br />Preservation Commission meeting. Ms. Wiseman asked for the following corrections: <br />· Page 1, last line should read - ".... For direction as to whether or not the HPC should <br /> proceed with the survey interviews (not funding). <br />· Page 5, paragraph 5 - Regarding the Nelson property, insert "Ms. Wiseman stated that the <br /> property was unincorporated and that the HPC ordinance would not have jurisdiction." after <br /> "It is questionable whether or not it was incorporated within the village limits." <br />· Page 6, second line - "Ms. Wiseman stated that the 27 homes were being developed on an <br /> adjacent parcel and the Nelson property was to have a church built on it." <br />· Page 6, 5th full paragraph - Sentence should read "Ms. Wiseman thought that since survey <br /> procedures were being reviewed, we may consider hiring someone to survey the entire <br /> village for "gems" only. <br /> <br />Commissioner Morrison moved for approval of the May 13, 2002, minutes as corrected. <br />Commissioner Kramer seconded the motion. Upon voice vote, motion carried. <br /> <br />General Communications <br /> <br />Ms Wiseman commented on the Landmark Preservation Council of Illinois event notification <br />that she had distributed to all the commissioners for their reference. Commissioner Kramer <br />added that these lectures are a fun event, usually with a good speaker and a good topic. <br /> <br />Old Business <br /> <br />Commissioner Dawson asked if any of the commissioners wanted to discuss the Village Board <br />declining to agree to fund a survey at this time? Commissioner Ireland commented that he was <br />thankful that the HPC did not proceed with the interviewing process. <br /> <br />Regarding the change of the Commissioner Quantity for the HPC as amended in Ordinance, No. <br />4412, there are now seven (7) commissioners with four (4) commissioners needed for a quorum. <br />Commissioner Kramer commented that one commissioner should be an Illinois Licensed <br />Architect rather than Illinois Registered Architect. Commissioner Kramer feels that the title <br />should have been "picked up properly." <br /> <br />Commissioner Morrison stated that the HPC should pursue filling the seventh commissioner slot, <br />and that the commissioners should remind President Carlson that he has names of potential <br />commissioners who would be interested and willing to be active members of the HPC. <br />Commissioner Kramer also suggested having the two one-year terms extended for two-year <br /> <br /> <br />
