MINUTES <br />APPROVED <br />GLENVIEW HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />April 14, 2003 <br /> <br /> <br />The April 14, 2003, meeting of the Glenview Historic Preservation Commission was <br />called to order by Chairman Silver at 7:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Village Hall. <br />Roll call was taken , and Chairman Silver noted that a quorum was present. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Commissioners Kramer, Ireland, Morrison, Neymark and <br /> Chairman Silver <br /> <br />ABSENT: Commissioners Conway and Dawson <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Helen Wiseman, Licensed Architect and Staff Liaison <br /> <br />Approv al of Minutes <br />Chairman Silver asked for corrections or comments to the March 10, 2003, minutes of the <br />Historic Preservation Commission meeting. The c orrection is as follows: <br /> <br />or <br />? Page Two, fourth paragraph, last sentence should read “… next month two. ”. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ireland moved to approve the March 10, 2003 minutes with one <br />correction. Commissioner Kramer seconded the motion. Upon voice vote the motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />General Communications <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Old Business <br /> <br />Certified Local Government Application St atus <br />Chairman Silver began by stating that the Glenview Historic Preservation Commission <br />has received certifi cation for becoming a Certified Local Government ( C L G ) . H e ha s <br />be e n requested to be present at the Board meeting on April 1 5 , 2003 to make the <br />ann ouncement. Chairman Silver encourage d other Commissioners to attend and lend <br />support. There are many new Board members and it is important to briefly educate them <br />on what this Commission does and what it intend s to do . Commissioner Morrison <br />thought it p rudent when announc ing th e designation to emphasi ze the authority it lends to <br />the Commission . <br /> <br />Commissioner Neymark commend ed Helen Wiseman for doing an excellent job in <br />expediting the certification process. <br /> <br />Ms. Wiseman said that C atherine O’Connor , of the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency <br />in Springfield, would like to a ddress the C ommission at its May 12, 2003 meeting and <br />present an orientation on what i s expected of a CLG. Chairman Silver liked the idea and <br />relayed how efficient Ms. O’Connor is an d how hard she worked to facilitate the <br />
