[final <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br />GLENVIEW HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />June 9, 2003 <br /> <br />Call to Order by the Chairman <br />The June 9, 2003, meeting of the Glenview Historic Preservation Commission was called <br />to order by Chairman Silver at 7:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Village Hall. <br /> <br />Roll Call and Declaration of a Quorum <br />Roll call was taken, and Chairman Silver noted that a quorum was present. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br /> <br />Commissioners Conway, Dawson, Ireland, Kramer, Morrison, <br />and Chairman Silver <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Commissioner Neymark <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Helen Wiseman, Licensed Architect and Staff Liaison <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Chairman Silver asked for corrections or comments to the May 12, 2003, minutes of the <br />Historic Preservation Commission meeting. The corrections are as follows: <br /> <br />Identify draft copies of minutes as such. <br /> <br />· On page four, first paragraph, sixth line, after the third sentence which ends <br />"...Village's calendar year." Add "Commissioners commented on the size of the two <br />reports that were given to them as examples, and that reports of that size would take <br />up a large portion of staff's time to prepare. Ms. O'Connor explained that in one of <br />the examples presented, answering the questions for the annual report took up only four <br />pages. The report included other materials that are produced during the course of <br />the year, such as the Village's monthly agendas and minutes ..." <br /> <br />· On page two, fourth paragraph, fourth line, Commission should be <br />Commissioner. <br /> <br />Chairman Silver found a discrepancy between his recollection of a particular passage and <br />what the Recording Secretary has presented. Following is Chairman Silver's notes for <br />page seven, first paragraph, fourth line, add "Ms. O'Connor said Glenview business <br />property owners of landmarked property can apply for a Class L tax incentive <br />which is designed to encourage the preservation and rehabilitation of architecturally <br />significant commercial, industrial and multifamily buildings. Under the Class L <br />real estate tax incentive, if the subject property qualifies, the building portion of the <br />assessed valuation will be assessed at 16 percent during the first ten years, 23 <br /> <br /> <br />
