FINAL

MINUTES
GLENVIEW HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
November 24, 2003

Call to Order by the Chairman
The November 24, 2003, meeting of the Glenview Historic Preservation Commission was
called to order by Chairman Silver at 7:37 p.m. in the Boardroom of the Village Hall.

Roll Call and Declaration of a Quorum
Roll call was taken, and Chairman Silver noted that a quorum was present.

PRESENT:

Commissioners Conway, Dawson, Kramer, Morrison and
Chairman Silver

ABSENT: None

ALSO PRESENT: Helen Wiseman, Licensed Architect and Staff Liaison

Approval of Minutes
Chairman Silver asked for corrections or comments to the October 13, 2003 minutes of the
Historic Preservation Commission meeting.

Commissioner Morrison requested clarification as to the meaning of the penultimate
paragraph on page three, "Chairman Silver asked for approval from the Commission that it
does not have to open the discussions and defer them." Chairman Silver responded that he
wanted to make sure the Commission was agreeable and didn't have to open the discussion
on those two nominations (HP2003-01 and HP2003-02) individually and then close them to
be official. The nominations were still pending if the Commission just held them in
abeyance at that time. Commissioner Conway suggested Chairman Silver's clarification be
added to the minutes.

The last paragraph on page three, Commissioner Morrison requested Ms. Wiseman send
her photocopies of the notices mailed to interested parties for both 1930 Prairie Street and
1510 Wagner Road. Commissioner Conway requested clarification after the word
"ordinance" to reflect, parenthetically, what the nature of the mailings of the notices are,
such as 1) to whom the notification was sent, 2) how it was sent, and 3) the timeframe of
the notice sent, to reflect that procedures were followed according to the ordinance.
Commissioner Morrison said that interested parties received sufficient notice so that no one
was taken by surprise.

Chairman Silver reiterated to the Commissioners, that when he met with Jeff Randall, all of
the ordinances mentioned on pages 4, 5, 6 and 7 were discussed. The only ones he did not
pick up, were the ones regarding who could nominate and the percentage on the district
because he said that was what the Board was requesting.
